Board specifications:
L293D Motor Driver Board provides an easy way to connect servo, stepper or DC motors to an Arduino-compatible board. The expansion board uses two L293D integrated circuits, which allow voltages up to 36V and current up to 1A. The integrated circuits have built-in current and temperature protection. The use of an interface chip 74HC595 is necessitated by the need for a large number of output pins for the two L293D chips. The high-current output signals from the drivers are brought out to screw terminals. Outputs for two 5V servo motors are brought out on pin headers. Analog outputs A0-A5 from the connected Arduino-compatible board are brought out on metalized contact holes. The drivers are powered from the EXT_POWER terminal. Optionally, via the PWR jumper, power for the drivers can be supplied from the VIN pin of the microcontroller board. When powered via EXT_POWER with over 12V, the PWR jumper must be removed to protect the Arduino-compatible board from overvoltage. The RESET button is brought out on the expansion board for easier resetting of the Arduino-compatible microcontroller board. LED LED1 indicates whether supply voltage is present for the drivers.
