Nano 3.0 is a microcontroller development board, built on the basis of the microcontroller ATmega328P-AU. On pin headers with a 2.54 mm pitch, 14 digital input/output ports and 8 analog inputs are brought out, as well as 5V, 3.3V and GND. Of the digital I/O ports, 6 can be used as PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). The inputs of the ICSP connector for programming are brought out on a pin header. Indicator LEDs are available – POW (indicates the presence of 5V supply voltage), TX and RX (indicate transmit/receive signals of the serial communication) and L (connected to GPIO 13 microcontroller pin). A RESET button is located on the board, serving to restart the microcontroller board. It is connected to the RESET pin brought out on a pin header.

Powering the Nano 3.0 is done via the USB connector or the input voltage pin VIN. The power supplied to VIN is in the range of 7-12VDC.

Communication and programming of the Nano 3.0 is done via a MINI-USB-B connector, and is carried out by an interface chip CH340G, working as USB to Serial. The serial communication signals RX and TX are brought out on GPIO 0 and GPIO 1.

The following additional signals are brought out on the pin headers:

  • REF – setting an external reference voltage source for the analog-to-digital converter
  • SDA and SCL – A4 and A5 pins
  • RST – serves to restart the microcontroller board.
