Buck converter with MP1584 is used to reduce DC voltages. The operating input voltage is 4.5V to 28V , and the output 0.8V to 20V. It is built on the basis of an integrated circuit MP1584, which is a buck converter (step down) with a built-in power transistor. The circuit works with very few external components and is therefore preferred for building this type of converter board. The integrated circuit provides high efficiency, even at low loads thanks to a function for skipping power pulses. Guaranteed efficiency of over 60%, reaching up to 96% in optimal cases. Quiescent current consumption is also low when no load is connected – 100uA. The built-in power transistor allows use with loads of up to about 1.8A, and with additional cooling – up to 3A.
