ESP32 DevKit V1 and ESP DevKit V4 are development boards with an integrated chip ESP32-WROOM. The chip operates on standard 2.4Ghz WIFI and Bluetooth frequencies. They are available in the Arduino development environment and are compatible with a large number of built-in libraries. The chip speed is 40MHz, it has 4MB of internal memory, power supply 3.3V. Minimum current consumption is around 500mA.
The difference between the two development boards lies in the layout and number of input/output pins.
Applications of the ESP32 DevKit V1 and ESP DevKit V4 boards:
They are most commonly used for IoT – Internet of Things projects. The boards easily connect to existing networks and allow remote control of analogue and digital pins. They provide most existing communication interfaces – UART, I2C, SPI etc. Native support for SD cards is also available, should your project require more memory.
Advantages of the ESP32 DevKit V1 and ESP DevKit V4 boards:
The main advantage of boards with ESP32 chips is their size – they are always small. A secondary effect of this is the low price. Support from the Arduino programming environment makes handling the boards easy, even for beginners. There are numerous libraries available for sensors, motors, memory, and last but not least – wireless networks.
